2025 SCRUB calendar

Des Moines Public Works recently announced the 2025 SCRUB calendar. The city’s Spring Cleanup to Reduce Urban Blight (SCRUB) program enables residents to dispose of bulk trash, appliances, and tires. The program consists of monthly events between March and November at the MWA Transfer Station (4198 Deleware Ave.). Yard waste can be taken to the city’s Composting Center (1601 Harriet St.). Additionally, four Mega SCRUB events are held at different locations throughout the year. Mega SCRUB events accept hazardous household chemicals and offer industrial shredders to destroy personal documents. Des Moines residents may utilize any of these events for free.
