Groundbreaking held for new apartment complex at former Plaza Lanes site

Officials from the city of Des Moines and Woda Cooper Companies broke ground for a new apartment complex on the former Plaza Lanes site October 28. The development has been in the works for more than a year as the developer coordinated with local, state, and federal leaders to plan and finance the project. Those plans include a first phase with 40 affordable housing units, a playground, a dog park, and a veteran’s memorial.
