Volunteer Opportunities

It may only be February, but spring is coming! Here are some great opportunities to get outside and volunteer around the Lower Beaver Neighborhood.

Adopt-a-park

The LBNA’s Adopt-A-Park program ensures that our neighborhood parks remain in great condition for everyone to enjoy. Volunteers can sign up to help for a month in Woodlawn Park, the Tom & Sophie Vlassis Greenway, and/or the Trestle to Trestle Trail. They will then be asked to walk through the park at least once weekly and report any safety or maintenance issues that need attention. Volunteers may optionally participate in litter cleanup. Sign up today!

SCRUB Day

Polk County River Place will once again be a Mega SCRUB site on May 18. This event is a great opportunity for residents to get rid of large items, hazardous waste, and much more. It is a tremendous way to prevent urban blight and dumping in our parks and waterways. And bonus, it is an opportunity to raise funds for LBNA events and activities! Volunteers are needed to direct traffic, check residency, and miscellaneous other things. Help us have more volunteers than Beaverdale! Sign up today!
